Our goal is simple: to empower people with the skills and awareness they need to protect our water, safeguard public health, and extend the life of septic systems.
Our Commitment
Technology & Innovation
Partnering with Local Communities
We believe that protecting the environment requires forward-thinking solutions. CSHEA leverages the latest advancements in septic technology, water testing, and remediation practices to ensure that every repair is not only cost-effective but also environmentally sustainable. Our training programs keep professionals up-to-date on innovative methods and tools, while our advocacy ensures that regulations keep pace with technology. By combining practical fieldwork with ongoing research and innovation, we help prevent septic pollution before it becomes a crisis.
CSHEA operates with full financial transparency and accountability. Every dollar we raise — through grants, donations, or partnerships — is invested directly into our mission of protecting Canada’s water, health, and environment. We prioritize efficiency, ensuring that funds are directed toward septic remediation, community training, and advocacy work rather than administrative overhead. By working with governments, environmental funders, and private supporters, we are building a reliable financial model that allows us to offer septic solutions at cost, provide payment plans, and fund fully subsidized repairs for families in need.
At CSHEA, we measure success not only by the number of systems repaired, but by the communities we empower and the waters we protect. Our approach unites financial responsibility, technological progress, and community partnership into a national movement for clean water and healthy living. Together, we are building a future where every Canadian has access to safe, sustainable septic systems and a cleaner environment.
Finance & Investing
Our work is rooted in collaboration. CSHEA partners with municipalities, environmental organizations, contractors, and community leaders to build solutions that work on the ground. For homeowners, we provide education and direct support; for professionals, we deliver training and resources; and for local governments, we offer an alliance that bridges public policy with community realities. By engaging all stakeholders, we create a network of support that ensures septic health becomes a shared responsibility and a shared success.

Executive Director
Mackenzie Childs
Director & Secretary
Mackenzie Childs is proud to serve as Director and Secretary of the Canadian Septic Health & Environment Alliance (CSHEA). As the daughter of founder and president Robert Childs, Mackenzie represents the next generation of stewardship within the organization, carrying forward a family commitment to protecting the environment and supporting Canadian communities.
In her role, Mackenzie provides governance support, ensures organizational transparency, and helps keep CSHEA’s operations running smoothly. More importantly, she stands as a symbol of continuity, reflecting how the values of service, environmental responsibility, and kindness that shaped her father’s journey are being passed down and strengthened through future leaders.
Mackenzie’s involvement underscores CSHEA’s long-term vision: this work is not just about solving today’s challenges, but about building a healthier, more sustainable future for generations to come. Her dedication to advancing her father’s mission highlights the powerful role families and communities play in creating lasting environmental change.
Bob Childs brings a lifetime of hard work, perseverance, and community spirit to his role as President of the Canadian Septic Health & Environment Alliance (CSHEA). Over the course of his career, Bob has completed countless jobs, each one driven by his unwavering commitment to providing for his family and contributing to the community around him.
Eight years ago, Bob took a leap of faith to pursue a vision of his own. With little more than determination and a shovel, he founded Septic Solutions, a company built not on heavy machinery at first, but on values of kindness, ethics, and practical knowledge. Through that foundation, Septic Solutions grew into a trusted name in the septic industry, known for its honesty and integrity.
Recognizing the growing environmental challenges facing our communities, Bob expanded his mission beyond business. With his own resources, he founded CSHEA as a self-funded nonprofit dedicated to repairing failing septic systems, protecting waterways, and educating both homeowners and professionals. His philosophy is simple but powerful: to fix the problem, start at the source. Based in Ontario’s highest elevation, Bob understands that pollution and wastewater flow downhill, and so must solutions begin at the top.
Respected for his humility, compassion, and resilience, Bob continues to build CSHEA into a national alliance of professionals committed to protecting Canada’s environment and public health. His leadership is inspired not only by his vision for cleaner water and healthier communities, but also by the legacy he is building for his family and future generations.
